How to create a read-only key on Bybit

Site IP to bind the key to: 185.186.142.35

  1. Sign in to bybit.com → profile icon → “API”.
  2. Click “Create New Key” → “System-generated API Keys”.
  3. Name — anything (e.g. “Monitoring”). Permissions: choose “Read-Only”.
  4. IP restriction: “Only link to IPs with permissions granted” → paste the site IP (shown in your cabinet). A Bybit key without an IP restriction expires in 3 months.
  5. Confirm with your 2FA code. Copy the API Key and API Secret — the secret is shown only once.
  6. Paste both into your cabinet: “Connect exchange”.
TipIf the exchange screen shows ticks for “Trade”, “Withdraw” or “Transfer”, untick them. The site checks the permissions automatically and tells you if anything extra is left.
